COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Steel Storage Systems, Inc. (SSSI), a Commerce City-based manufacturer of racking and conveyor systems for the steel service center industry, has named Lauren McCallin Chief Executive Officer and Patrick McCallin Chief Operating Officer, completing a leadership transition to the third generation of the McCallin family.
Lauren McCallin, who served as COO since 2023, becomes CEO after the family completed its buyout of the company’s previous ownership in 2025. Patrick McCallin, who has worked across manufacturing, sales, and installation throughout his career at SSSI, steps into the COO role.
The appointments mark 67 continuous years of McCallin family leadership at the company, which was founded in Commerce City in 1958 and established as Steel Storage Systems, Inc. in 1964.
Brian McCallin, who led the company as president for 30 years (1995–2025), continues to serve on the company’s board of directors, where he remains involved in guiding strategy and preserving institutional knowledge.
